It took six years for us to create and perfect our “control” driver training program.
Our Bellaire teenage driving training is not designed to get cheap, quick, and easy driver licenses.
“Instinct” driver training is used by driving schools to get cheap, quick and easy driver licenses.
Instinct-trained drivers run red lights and stop signs, speed, tail gate and engage in road rage.
The National Center for Health Statistics estimates that over 100 people in the United States are killed in vehicle crashes every day.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) blames distraction and human error as the main causes of vehicle crashes. What is distraction and what is human error?
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) found the following:
43% of first year drivers and 36% of second year drivers are involved in vehicle crashes.
Traffic crashes are a leading cause of death for teens between 15 - 18 years old.
In 2021, 203,256 young drivers were in crashes nationwide.
In 2023, 5,133 drivers (ages 15 - 20) were killed in traffic crashes a 5% increase from 2022.
Nationwide from 2014 to 2023, road rage shootings increased by 400%.
In 2025, Houston was ranked as the number one city in the nation for road rage incidents.
Below are some of the principles and procedures we teach.
The most powerful computer on earth is the human brain. The adult brain weighs three pounds; sixty percent is fat, forty percent is water, salts, protein and carbohydrates.
The brain has 86 billion neurons with 100 trillion connections.
Before our students drive on the road, we teach them how to use their brains to gain a safe level of control as follows:

Parking lots are dangerous. We teach our students how to accurately opposite and same-side park, use pivot back-out exits and manage parking lot traffic. Learning to control all elements in small spaces makes it easier to control all elements in large spaces.
On July 7, 2026 (local 10 news), a 62 year old man was gunned down by an unidentified woman over a parking space in Florida.
We teach our students how to steer, brake, and accelerate properly.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recommends the 9/3 hand position on the steering wheel. This hand position causes oversteering by moving the front wheels in large irregular increments. It is dangerous because the higher the speed, the quicker the vehicle moves in the direction of the oversteer.
We teach our students how to use the 10/2 hand position because it does the exact opposite from the 9/3 hand position.
We teach our students how control speed and space by using angles, inches, degrees, diagonals and radius. If you control space, you control speed and vice versa.
On July 7, 2025, a 21 year old was speeding. He hit a pole, almost split the car in two and died. If he took Sugarland teenage driving classes, he was not taught how to control speed and space.
Reckless turns cause a lot of accidents and road rage. We teach our students how to make proper turns by using center view, point-of-turn, hand-over-hand, 10/2 hold, release and accelerate.
Changing lanes is a major cause of accidents and road rage.
We teach our students to use turn signals, 3-point rear mirror viewpoint, 360-degree awareness, and blind spot checks to make controlled lane changes. Regardless of the speed, the rhythm of the procedure remains deliberate and careful.
On December 10, 2023 (channel 13 local), a 17 year old was driving on I-45 in Houston. She changed lanes, cut someone off, was shot and died at the scene. If she took Meyerland private driving lessons, she was not taught how to make a controlled lane change.
Classes are parking lot (first 2 classes), neighborhood, 35 mph, 45 mph feeder and freeway.
We pick-up and return students (mileage charge may apply).
